Meet the people behind Good Clean Fun NZ:
Shirley Booth
Background:
While I helped set Good Clean Fun up, I work now as a Primary School teacher.
I’m still involved with this though, maintaining the website and taking people around New Zealand whenever I get the chance to.
George Booth
Background:
I like to tell people that I’ve always been a Kiwi, but just started somewhere else! I was born and grew up in Central Africa but chose the Merchant Navy as a career. After years of working as a ship’s captain, I worked as the director of a charity in New Zealand.
Along with Good Clean Fun, I am still involved with the sea, in teaching boating safety and helping to train new sailors. I am also an avid hiker and climber.
Carolyn Booth
Background:
Before having children, I worked as a nurse.
I had the unusual experience of having each of my three children born on a different continent! (Maybe that’s why they still love travel so much.)
Now I am the proud grandmother to 6 beautiful children and also ‘mum’ to a family of cats that we rescued from our garden, which is now better at growing vegetables!
Our target market, is people who love the outdoors and wish to see the nature of New Zealand in good company. We work well with all ages and nationalities - if you want to enjoy nature in New Zealand, you will fit right in with us!
We also want to retain the flexibility to offer everything from day-trips out of the Auckland area to tailor-made tours around the country for up to a week or even longer. Groups are deliberately kept small to underscore our commitment to the personal touch. You can’t enjoy nature in a crowd.
Other values:
The main value that drives us is ‘Do for others what you would have them do for you.’ Good Clean Fun NZ offers the kind of trips that we know we would love, and we aim to treat you in the same ways that we would love to be treated ourselves every day.
After being impacted by a little book called ‘Fish’ a few years ago, we have also adopted the following four values as very close to our hearts:
So that’s us! If you like what we stand for, get in touch with us.
We would love to help you experience some Good Clean Fun in New Zealand nature with us!
Have you filled in our Price Checker form yet? This is an easy way to see the kinds of tours we offer and prices we charge.
Good
value for money, good locations, good to the environment, good to local communities, good memories and experiences with good tour guides. We want you to have a good experience with us and leave us having made some good friends!
Clean
green, sustainable touring is our goal; the kind of travel that seeks to leave only footprints for the next generation and take only memories for ourselves. We want to share the nature that is unique to New Zealand and stay off the beaten track as much as possible.
Fun
Because life taken too seriously is not much of a life at all. We are adventurers, seizing the moment, enjoying all that life offers, and it is our joy to share this daily with others. After all, this is your holiday - you want to enjoy yourself, don’t you?
About Good Clean Fun NZ
We are a tour guiding company that seeks to provide the following:

Choose Your Attitude
We can’t choose our circumstances, but we can choose how we react to them. Our attitudes are up to us, and we choose to have positive ones.
Make Their Day
Or, as we like to think of it, ‘Others are It!’ We have discovered that life is so much more of a delight to live when others are the focus. Nothing beats the feeling of knowing you have created a special moment for someone.
Play
We love what we do and we want you to enjoy yourselves too. Life is a serious thing but we plan to have fun as we live it!
Be There
We want to be fully present when we are with you, not distracted by other things or offering you a half-hearted service. When we lose the passion for this, we will stop the business.
Believe it or not...
As a student, I had many interesting part-time jobs, including being a clown, a caricature artist and having to dress up as an elf!
What do you bring to Good Clean Fun NZ?
I love helping people discover the great outdoors. The more we know about nature and the more we appreciate it, the more we will be concerned for its preservation. Yes, I’m an unabashed conservationist! Spend time in this beautiful country and it’s hard not to be one too!
Believe it or not...
My mother confessed to me a few years ago that I was actually born in the hospital luggage room! Now I know why I have been living out of a suitcase ever since.
What do you bring to Good Clean Fun NZ?
I’ve always told people, ‘You only have one life. Do the things you enjoy’, so that’s what I’m doing now!
I love having fun and making friends wherever I go. I am serious about my responsibilities but very relaxed. I aim to be a guide you can relate to and enjoy spending your holiday with.
Believe it or not...
I have three tattoos! Not the kind you might be thinking of though - I am a cancer survivor and had dots tattooed onto me to help with the radiation therapy.
What do you bring to Good Clean Fun NZ?
I won’t be on the road so much, but take care of behind-the-scenes jobs at our home base, as well as helping with hospitality and keeping George and Shirley in check.
